25-09-2001 7th Pump Users Forum

The 7th Forum, focused to pump selection and operation, introduces the LCC concept. The idea of LCC brings reasonable selection of pumps, subassemblies e.g. sealings, drives, control devices, etc., as well as solutions of pumping in very specific circumstances like dewatering of mines, which are being closed down. All these are presented in lectures.

Representative of FEWE has presented paper "New energy efficient drives for pump system" Also information about the Polish Efficient Motor Programme PEMP has been presented presented.

24-09-2001 Working meeting on Local Energy Plans in Polish Communities

KAPE and B&S.U.mbH/Germany have initiated and organized the working meeting focus on:

• communal Labels: an international labelling system for energy efficient communes,
• current development of local energy planning in Poland and consulting activities of KAPE, FEWE, BAPE, NAPE, UCEiOS,
• potential area of partner's cooperation related to actions needed.

The meetings conclusions bring a development of next steps to meet priorities of follow up activities needed.

FEWE presentation on community energy supply planning at the meeting includes:

04-09-2001 "Draft of Wind Energy Programme"

The state act "Strategy of renewable energy sources development" www.mos.gov.pl/oze) has been approved by Polish Parliament at August, 23rd.

The Strategy will be implemented by detail programs. First Draft Programme on Wind Energy Development (www.mos.gov.pl/mos/publikac/raporty) has been worked out by Baltic Renewable Energy Centrum (BREC) from Warsaw, ordered by Ministry of Environment.
FEWE has been invited by Ministry of Environment/Department of Environmental Protection to discuss the Draft of Wind Energy Programme.
FEWE introduced some opinions and remarks during the meeting at September, 4th in Warsaw, which confirmed in written contribution.

The main FEWE impression on the Draft evaluation is:

• the is key milestone towards Executive Programme,
• but to work out successful and real Programme, the Draft should be changed in order to:
  • built partnership: public interest/private investors,
  • justify public support by internalization of additionalies,
  • develop the state mechanisms of programme looking at whole strategy, not separately for wind energy only,
  • open the sustainable market of wind energy.
